Common Car Care Products

Your car is an investment. You may do well with it when you first get it, keeping it clean inside and out and making sure the engine is working as best as it can. However, as time goes on, you may slack off on a few things and that can mean your car does not last as long as it should, and may even mean that your gas mileage gets worse than it should be. If you think hard about good car care products and take some time out just once a week, you can keep your car in great condition both on the surface and in the engine where it really counts.

One of the most important car care products that you can have on hand at all times in motor oil. You should have this changed every 3000 miles, but it is a good idea to have some with you when you travel or even when you drive to work. Keep a few quarts in your trunk for easy access. You should check it once a week when getting gas to be sure you have enough in there. If it is not yet time for your oil change, you can add what you need and you do not have to worry about damage to your engine in the meantime.

Along the same lines, there are other car care products that you should always have with you in your truck or other storage area in your vehicle of choice. You should always have windshield washing fluid with you. This does not really keep your car running well, but it makes sure that you can see while driving which is of utmost importance as you know. You should also have transmission fluid and power steering fluid as well. You may not need them often, but it will be nice to know you have these car care products when you need them. A gas treatment product can be used once in a while as well.

When it comes to the exterior of your car, your car care products are going to be about how good you want your car to look, but also about the longevity of your frame and body. If you live where there is a lot of snow and ice in the winter, you drive over salt all of the time. When you do that, that salt clings to your car and eats away at the paint first and then the metal on your car. You want to have car care products for keeping the salt off of your car. You may have to clean it often in the winter, but do not put that off because it is rather hard. See about undercoating for your car, but visit the car wash often.

Other car car products may include things to keep your wheels and tires shiny and clean. You may want to have something to clean your dash, and a window cleaner for your windows is a must. You should keep your fabrics clean, and that can usually be done with a vacuum. However, accidents may happen, so a good fabric cleaner may be in order. Floor mats can take away some of the wear and tear of people getting in and out of your car though you may not think of them as car care products making them a great idea.
