If you worry, ask your doctor to test you quite often for infection, and report when anything seems to be off. That may save you from a miscarriage or from having a baby too early.

Sadly, other times, there are no answers as to what causes a miscarriage. There are also times when there is no answer as to why a baby is born early or why some do not survive when a pregnancy has been going well. These things may not always be a mystery, but they are today. There may not be anything that you can do to prevent some problems, but having good prenatal care can eliminate some problems that could cost you a pregnancy. If you do not have insurance, search around for someone that will see you no matter what you can pay. There are good doctors out there that will do just that, but you may have to search for them.
