Choosing Winter Wedding Invitations

You know many brides want to get married in June, as it is the traditional month for weddings. However, not everyone thinks this is the ideal time to wed. Some prefer to have a wedding in the spring or fall, but winter is also a popular time. If you are getting married during the colder months of the year, you want to have fun with your dcor and your winter wedding invitations. You can do things with these that you can not do any other time of the year. Best of all, you can buy them or buy the supplies and make them on your own.

Winter weddings can be a lot of fun. Some have them near Christmas, but that does not mean you have to use Christmas colors or theme if you do not wish to. That is up to you. If you do, that might limit what you can do with your winter wedding invitations, but that does not mean they can not be great. The best way to use Christmas in your theme is to be subtle about it. You can go with red or green, or red and green if you wish, but you do not have to use any other signs of Christmas. People will get the subtle colors to know it is a Christmastime wedding theme.

Otherwise, winter wedding invitations can be anything that has to do with winter. Snow is obviously white as are most wedding dresses. Silver is a great color to use for both the wedding and invitations at this time of year, so if you like silver, this is a great time to use it. Otherwise, some believe that blue is a great color, as it has come to symbolize winter in some places. White, silver and blue are great colors together, but do not think of them as your only option. Go with what works best for you and your groom to be. You will know how to make it work.

If you are going to make your own winter wedding invitations, have fun with them. If you are well known for your sense of humor, but want a rather elegant wedding, you can always find a way to put your humor in without making your wedding anything other than what you envision it to be. Your winter wedding invitations should be perfect, but you can add humor to them by adding some fake snow to the envelope. It will come out when they take out the invitation. They will know it is a winter theme, but they will also know it came from you.

There are some things that are the same with winter wedding invitations that stand with invitations sent out at any other time of the year. Make sure you take a finished and ready to go invitation to the post office to be weighed before you mail the bulk of them. You should state that they are your wedding invitations and that you want to be sure the postage is correct so they get where they are supposed to go without being sent back. Many brides have learned this the hard way when their invitations have come back for insufficient postage and mangled too.
